Yay! It took me three years, and a lot of revisions, but Heart of the Mountain, Breath of the Water (working title) is complete. It’s about Neddy, the Girl in the trio of Girl/Woman/Crone, who lives in the Galenwood. Following a long-held tradition, Neddy is tasked with a quest to find a hero for the Galenwood. But Dark has stolen the Heart from Sun, and the Breath from Moon. Which means Neddy not only has to find her hero, she also must find the Heart and Breath and return them to Moon and Sun. If she doesn’t, Dark will take over the world, and everything in it will end.
Now to find an agent and publisher.
I think I’ve said it somewhere else her, but I like writing short stories, too. I’m going to start sharing some of them. But there’s one that I especially like — it’s my favorite at the moment — The Goblin’s Eyes. It’s like a fable, and I’ve decided to write more so that it will eventually be a book. The Goblin’s Eyes will be the first chapter, and I’m going to let you read it now. I hope you like it.
To give you a little taste, here’s the first paragraph:
“The goblin had her mother’s eyes, as was common. She also had her grandmother’s and her great-grandmother’s. She kept them in a bag tied to her belt. When her daughter was old enough, she would get the bag along with this goblin’s eyes. It was the tradition.”
